Loose Lips Sink Relation-Ships

Dear Ms. HeartBeat:
I am a single 28 year old male with a problem. Last night I was out with friends and acquaintances. My acquaintances were talking about this girl I have been talking to hanging out with, etc. So I told her about it and she gets upset like I would as well, but then she goes “I’m just not going to talk to anyone anymore!” and now she seems pissed at me.

I asked her for breakfast this morning but didn’t get any response as of yet. Do you think I should let her cool off and message me back when she is ready, or do I try to reach out to see what’s up with her?

Things had been going so well between us even earlier that day we had a great time together, so I don’t know what’s up now.

Dear Said Something Wrong:
You are disgustingly immature to be so old. Dude, you are almost 30 years old and acting like a high school kid. What is your problem? You cannot possibly be THAT dense!

I swear, you need to learn to keep your mouth shut. Every thought you have and every word you hear does not need to be repeated or to be spewed forth from your lips.

Men talk too damn much. Learn to shut up sometimes. Stop telling women stupid stuff that is not going to help your relationship at all. What would possess you to be gossipy and tattle tale-ish, running back to her like some little whiney girl telling the dirt those guys said?? What else would you think that she would feel but upset?

She is upset at them for talking about her of course, but she is more upset at you for sitting there listening to it. Plus she is not a stupid girl and knows that if you were there and they were talking, you chimed in with your two cents which means you were talking about her too. And super upset that you told her something that would only make her feel sad and confused and like there is no privacy in her relationship with you. She feels stupid and knows if you would tell her what THEY said, you are telling them what SHE said. She knows that if there were any sexual activity between you that you would tell that too. Because you don’t know how to keep your mouth shut and you talk too much.

Sheesh, dude! If she speaks to you ever again you should consider yourself blessed. If it were me you wouldn’t have to worry. I would chalk you up to being an adolescent in the mind and far too “young” for me to date, and leave you alone. Forever.
