Why does he act so distant?

Dear Ms. HeartBeat:
There’s this guy that I been talking for about a month now. He hangs out with me whenever he can and makes time for me, but he never calls me. I used to be the one always texting him till I stopped doing it, and he will always say I’m going to text today but he wouldn’t. Then he may finally decide to text me after like two weeks. Ever since that happened he started showing interest in me, but its like after a week we go back to not being as close as before.

I went on Facebook and he always claims that he’s single, so it can’t be another woman. I know we’re not going out officially, but I just want to know from you if this is even going somewhere.

No, its not going anywhere. He is not interested in you like that, which means you need to stop wasting your time focusing on him. It’s great you like this guy, but don’t you think if he liked you he’d be (1) in your face and chasing you down to be with you; (2) texting you back ASAP; (3) keeping in contact daily or even more than 1x a day; and (4) asking you out for special dates?

I’d take it to mean he sees you as more as a friend, not a committed girlfriend that he really wants to be with. Now if you keep chasing after him, I’m sure he’d happily sleep with you as many times as you allowed, but that is all it would be for him – using you as a booty call.

I suggest you stop worrying about what he is doing (throwing you a bone), and just ignore him. If he wants to be around you, talk to you or take you out, he knows where you are.
